Promoting and valorising a geographic area requires a wide range of innovative – different and yet complementary – skills. This is a journey, however, that has a precious starting point: discovery.
It was from this important awareness that the new edition of AppenninoLab, FEG’s project targeted at Genoa upper secondary schools, came to light.
The main objective of the project to let young people find out about the resources and potential of the Apennine region, as well as take part in active and responsible citizenship activities enabling them to put into practice the skills acquired through their specific studies and curricula.
As part of this initiative, the pupils of 6 classes from as many different schools join efforts to develop an incoming tourism website for a selected Apennine municipality – an ambitious project which is then handed over to the citizens on La Giornata dell’Appennino (The Apennines Day). This latter event, too, is conceived, planned and actively held by the students, supported by a group of mentors at a national level.
